FAQs

What do you do?

We specialise in three things only:

  • taps

  • toilet flushes

  • extractor fans

That means we deal with the smaller bathroom jobs that many tradespeople put off, such as dripping taps, faulty flushes and noisy or failed extractor fans.

How much does a tap repair cost?

Typical tap repair pricing is:

  • £85 including VAT for one cartridge replacement

  • £95 including VAT for two cartridges

  • additional cartridges beyond the first are £10 each

If a repair attempt fails and you go ahead with a replacement tap, we will take £50 off the replacement tap cost.

Flush replacement work starts from £95 including VAT.

The final cost can depend on access, whether the toilet is boxed in, and what parts are needed.

Extractor fan replacements start from £105 including VAT.

The exact cost can depend on whether the fan is wall mounted, ceiling mounted or inline.

What areas do you cover?

We currently cover the following postcode areas:

  • MK40

  • MK41

  • MK42

  • MK43

  • MK45

If you are not sure whether you are in our area, just start a booking enquiry and we will check your postcode.

Do you only work on bathrooms?

We mainly focus on bathroom/kitchen taps, toilet flushes and extractor fans. If you are unsure, just ask.

Do you do general plumbing?

No, we are a specialist service. We do not offer general plumbing, boiler work, heating, drainage, full bathroom refurbishments, or general handyman services.

Can I book online?

Yes, you can start the booking process through our website chat. We will ask a few simple questions, confirm whether the job is in our area and scope, and then either:

  • book the job in, or

  • offer a guaranteed-price route if more information is needed

Do I need to know exactly what is wrong?

No, most customers do not know the exact technical issue, and that is absolutely fine.

You only need to describe what the problem is doing, for example:

  • the tap is dripping

  • the toilet keeps running

  • the fan is noisy

  • the fan will not switch off

We will guide you from there.

Do I need to send photos?

Not always.

Photos can be helpful if:

  • you want a more accurate or guaranteed price

  • access looks awkward

  • the fitting or layout is unusual

  • we need to identify a likely replacement item

If photos are helpful, you do not need to upload them during the chat. Once the conversation is finished, we can send you a text and/or email with a link to upload them.

Can I still book if I do not have photos?

Yes. In many cases, we can still get the job booked in without photos.

Are your prices fixed?

There are two routes:

Direct booking

Most issues we can fix using our held stock, if the information shared is high enough quality for us to be able to offer a fixed price, we will.

Guaranteed-price route

If photos or a video survey are needed to be more precise, we may offer a guaranteed-price route before booking.

We will always explain the pricing basis clearly before moving forward.

What if the repair does not work?

If a repair attempt does not resolve the issue and you then proceed with a replacement tap, flush or fan, we will apply a £50 discount towards the replacement cost.

Do you fit isolation valves?

Yes, where appropriate.

If there are no isolation valves in place and fitting them would improve future serviceability or make shut-off easier in the event of a leak, they can usually be fitted at £10 each

Do you work weekends?

Standard pricing applies Monday to Friday.

Saturday appointments are available at 1.5 times the normal rate.

We do not offer Sunday appointments.

Can I get an appointment within 48 hours?

Most of the time, ye

If you need an appointment within the next 48 hours, we may ask you for one or two backup time slots as well, just in case your preferred time is not available.

Is my booking confirmed as soon as I complete the chat?

The chat helps us collect the details needed to send the booking through properly. Once the visit is scheduled, you will receive confirmation by text and/or email.

Will I receive anything after the chat?

Yes, once your enquiry or booking request has been completed, you will receive the next steps by text and/or email.

If photos are needed, we may also send you a link so you can upload them after the chat.

What details do you need to make a booking?

Usually:

  • your name

  • phone number

  • email address

  • property address

  • postcode

  • a brief description of the issue

  • your preferred availability

We only ask for what is needed to move the booking forward.

What if my toilet is boxed in or difficult to access?

That is important to mention.

If the cistern is concealed, boxed in, behind furniture, or tiled around, that can affect the work involved and the pricing. We may ask for photos or suggest a review before confirming a guaranteed price.

What if I do not know what type of fan I have?

That is fine. If you can describe where it is and what it is doing, that is often enough to get started. If needed, we may ask for a photo later.

Why should I use a specialist instead of a general tradesperson?

Because this is all we do, and we do it well.

We focus on the smaller repair jobs many tradespeople treat as inconvenient. That means:

  • faster diagnosis

  • less guesswork

  • clearer pricing

  • proper repairs

  • no upselling into bigger work you do not need
